Alpha is an 11-week series of interactive sessions exploring the Christian faith. Each week at the Alpha course, people gather to eat, watch a video about the Christian faith and then talk and share about the video. The Table Group Host facilitates the conversation in a 8- to 12-person group. Since the Host is not teaching in the group, the Host does not need to be an expert in the Bible or in theology. The Host does need to be gifted and skilled in hospitality to welcome people of all backgrounds and to invite their views, questions and even challenges to the conversation.
